I’ve tried it, liked it. Seldom see it here in Ohio. This is the state where they put ranch dressing on everything. I’ve ordered blue cheese dressing for my hot wings and get ranch by mistake. I wish we had more fry sauce, getting tired of ketchup.

There are some good recipes online for it. Many have a little hot sauce, spices, vinegar or worchestershire added.

If you've ever seen a Zaxby's restaurant (I think there's one in my garage now, I'll have to check), this is one of their signature sauces. Even though just about everyone in the South has been making this stuff at home for generations. But a good recipe with some extra ingredients is really solid.

Are there no people who are not in group 1., i.e. they have tried “fry sauce” and who are not in group 2., i.e. they think it is not inferior, or in other words that it is as good or better than ketchup? They would be group 3, which would have to include you, HammerheadFistpunch, as evidenced by your use of the word “wrongly.”

I’m in group 1, first I ever heard of “fry sauce,” but it does sound pretty tasty. I like ketchup and fries, but I also definitely like fries with chili and melted cheese.

Sounds kind of tasty. When I was in Amsterdam I got fries and mayo when I was in my, uh... “condition” and it was damn tasty. Once I got back to normal I tried it again, and it was still tasty. Mayo + ketchup together sounds pretty excellent to me.

Can I actually just stir together some Hellman's with some Heinz and end up with a good fry sauce?

Do a comparative review of all the different sauces. Then compare them to the classic 50/50 and maybe a recipe with spices and see how they stack up.
